2nd 1.8 MHz contest 2024

The final event of this year's HF Championship attracted 85 entries (two more than for the first event earlier in the year) and 6 checklogs.

As seems normal in these contests, DX was in very short supply although four stations from North America appeared in the logs.  There was good support from Europe, however, with the 30 non-UK entrants coming from 13 DXCCs.

The battle for the Victor Desmond Trophy, awarded to the highest scoring UK & CD station has recently been a 'battle of the titans' and is always closely fought. This year, Stewart G4AFF prevailed as a first-time winner of the event (clearly, his relocation from north of the border has done him no harm!) with the 'usual suspects' sharing the other podium places in each UK category.

The next 1.8 MHz contest is on Saturday 8 February 2025 commencing at 2000 UTC.Please note that the duration of the event has been reduced to three hours and hence this start time is one hour later than previously.  This event will also see the introduction of SSB to the modes, and the full set of revised rules will be published shortly.
