November 2025 80m Autumn Series CW contest

This was the last Autumn Series CW contest for 2025 and also the final session for the series. Unfortunately the propagation on the night was disappointing with the critical frequency dropping below 3.5MHz during the evening and auroral conditions reported in the far north.

There were 162 entrants in total, with logs received from ten non-UK&CD countries and a further fourteen different overseas countries in the logs, reflecting the longer skip band conditions. Thanks to Terry GM3WUX for hosting the bonus station GM6XX, he made 109 QSOs from his station in Glasgow.

Entrants are again reminded that no transmissions must be made in the two minutes immediately preceding the start and all QSOs must be completed before the end. Please also ensure your clock is accurately set before the start to avoid that 'Broken - Time' in your UBN. A wideband SDR recording was used to check for any violations, a few were found and penalties applied. The rules also require all stations to observe the frequency limits specified, QSOs outside those limits will be disallowed. Use of CAT control is recommended but not essential, if not used then the frequency must be logged as '3500'.

As this is the last contest in the series the overall club awards for 2025 have been finalised. The list below shows the awards in the Local and General club categories together with the individual certificates for the three CW sessions. The SSB and DATA individual certificates can be viewed by navigating to the appropriate page. There was an exceptionally close finish this year in the General club category with Echelford ARS overtaking De Montfort University ARS in the final session and taking top spot by just 200 points. In the Local club category there was another win for Norfolk ARC with Bristol CG as runners-up, the same one-two positions for the fifth consecutive year. In the overall individual table David M7W (G3TBK) is in first place with a total of 8739 points out of a possible 9000. Tim G4ARI is in second place and the highest placed non-UK station is Yuri DL7RAV. Thanks to all the non-UK stations for their continued support, there were 75 entrants from outside the UK&CD. The leading Intermediate station is Tracey 2E0CEY achieving a creditable 24^th place overall and the leading Foundation licensee is David M7DQO.

Congratulations to the Trophy and all the Certificate winners and we look forward to the 2026 Club Championship starting with the SSB contest on Monday 2^nd February at 2000 UTC.
