3rd Autumn Series DATA Contest 3rd November 2025

The last of the data legs of the Autumn Series took place on the 3rd November 2025 with many reporting 80m to be in fine mood with good propagation both UK and also into Europe.

This series has a 'Le Mans' start so no stations should transmit in the 2 minute period prior to the contest start. As in previous years, penalties are being applied and this time four stations chanced their luck by TXing in the 2 minute NO TX window. 5 points have been duly deducted from entrant's score for this contravention. There is no excuse for going early as all PCs these days have their clocks within a second of time.

Again, there are complaints in the soapbox of stations who have not set their modulation up correctly and thus overdriving their audio stages making them undecodable and also taking up the spectrum. PSK in particular suffers with over modulation and if compression is employed then if you wonder why PSK is not working for you, don't blame the conditions, look to your setup! There is no excuse for having an untidy signal.

The entry count was up by 5 entrants to 128 logs being received. As usual the G6XX club station was on air to give away those valuable 5 point QSOs and once more operated as G6XX by Bernard Bot M5BBB.

So to the individual results. Wins were recorded for:-

G4IVV in the 100W-A Section

G4ENZ in the 10W-A Section

MW2I (GW5NF) in the 100W-U Section

G4A (G4TSH) in the 10W-U section.

Congratulations to this month's winners.

That concludes the data contesting for this year and I get a month off before the New Year begins and off we go again with AFS. All that leaves me to do therefore is to wish you all the compliments of the forthcoming season, may it be a joyful and relaxing time. See you all in January.
