VHF CW Championship 2012

This is the first year that this championship has been run and it includes the 50MHz CW, the 70MHz CW and the 144 MHz CW contests.

These events taken together show a healthy interest in CW on the VHF bands with 70 stations entering.  However only ten stations were active on two bands and only three entered all three contests.  To achieve a high overall score it is necessary to be active on multiple bands.  The final result was extremely close with G4TSW just holding off a strong challenge from G4ZTR.

CW operators are encouraged to take up the challenges of this event in 2013 and operate on as many bands as possible.

•  The Tiverton (SW) Radio Club, G4TSW,  (operated by G0IFC, G3XBY, G4FJK and GW0IRW) for being the inaugural winners of this new event;
•  John, G4ZTR for achieving second place.
