URGENT CHANGES TO APRIL 2014 SHF UKAC
Many readers will be aware of the recent OFCOM review of amateur access to the 2.3GHz and 3.4GHz bands. The results of this review
impact on the use of these bands in a number of ways, and the consequences are being notified to RSGB members via the
usual communication channels. From a contest point of view, there is an almost immediate impact on the next SHF UKAC
(on 22nd April). For that reason, this special issue of the Contest Committee Newsletter is being circulated. Please note that,
for the 22nd April SHF UKAC only, the duration on 2.3GHz is being reduced and will now run from 1930 - 2130 UTC. The
duration on the other bands is unaffected, where the contest will run from 1900 - 2130 UTC as usual. The impact on the SHF
UKACs in the longer term will be notified in the May issue of the Newsletter, which will be published in the next few days.
