OTHER UK VHF/UHF CONTESTS IN DECEMBER 2015 (by Dave G7RAU)
Following a successful pilot last year, the UK Six Meter Group (UKSMG) will be running a 6 Metre Winter Contest this year. Its aim is
to promote activity during the winter months:
* the contest is a Marathon style event and will be held over a 2 months period commencing the first day in December and ending on the last
day in January (00:00z on 1st December to 00:00z on 31st January)
* there is no contest exchange, however the normal QSO data must be recorded e.g. Date of QSO, Time of QSO (on/off or both), Callsign of station
worked, 4 digit locator of station worked (6 digit locator accepted, but your score will be based on the first 4 digits), QSO frequency in
Megahertz, RS(T) Sent and RS(T) received
* scoring to be 1 point awarded per unique 4 digit locator worked
* logs to be submitted via the UKSMG website in ADIF format. These can be submitted in real time throughout the event, or in total after the
contest end, but before the submission cut off date.
See http://uksmg.org/contest/winter-marathon-rules.php or click here
for full rules and to upload your ADI file.

2nd 1.8MHz CONTEST - LOG SUBMISSION (by Ed GW3SQX)
The following text repeats a posting made recently on the UK HF Contest
reflector for the benefit of those who do not subscribe to it:
Some of you entering the 2nd 1.8 MHz contest a couple of days ago have
discovered that the robot did not allow you to enter as "Assisted".
This problem was fixed as soon as the Contest Committee became aware of
it, but there were a number of logs which were entered before this was done.
Now that the software is fixed, could we ask everyone who was not able
to enter as "Assisted" please to re-submit their log -- we think there
are only a handful. You will then find that the Assisted section is
available, and the new log will overwrite the old. If you are entering
as Unassisted you do not need to resubmit. If you have already
successfully submitted or resubmitted, you need to take no further action.
The web address for uploads is: www.rsgbcc.org/cgi-bin/hfenter.pl.
you want to see a list of submitted logs to confirm what the committee
has received so far, you can check at:
www.rsgbcc.org/cgi-bin/hfposted.pl?Contest=2nd%201.8MHz%20Contest&year=2015
All entrants affected will also receive an email explaining this. We
have tried to make the wording of this email as simple as possible,
bearing in mind the number of entrants for whom English is not their
first language -- and in some cases not even written in their own alphabet.
Apologies for the glitch and thank you for your patience.

2016 HF CONTEST CALENDAR AND RULES (by Quin G3WRR)
The CC believes that the dates and times in the 2016 HF Contest Calendar are now firm and will not be subject to further change, thus
allowing individuals and clubs to get the relevant dates into their diaries. The calendar showing these dates and times can be found
on the CC website at http://www.rsgbcc.org/cgi-bin/hfreadcal.pl?year=2016 and can be accessed by clicking
here. The .ics and Google calendars linked from that page may not have been updated
as you read this but this will be done in the near future. You may wish to note that:
* in response to a number of requests from entrants, the existing UK Sprint series will retained for 2016: its future in subsequent years
will be reviewed in the light of 2016 entry levels
* at the time of writing this, the links to the rules are not yet operational, and attempts to use them will result in receipt of
a "404 Not Found" message
* however the rules are being worked on by the CC and will be progressively uploaded from now onwards, as far as possible in chronological
order (i.e. starting with January, then February, and so on).
AND FINALLY (by Quin G3WRR)
That's all for this month - good contesting to you all.
