GOOD FAIR CONTEST, WITHOUT ANY UNBELIEVABLY STRONG SIGNALS.
LITTLE HEARD FROM THE NORTH, AND NOBODY FROM GM.
Congratulations on the rapid adjudication and publication
of results,
The usual delay of several months is a total turn-off
to youngsters.
G3TKF
What a lot of noise on the band
G3UFY
Run frequency picked up some SSB QRM soon after the
start and I couldn't find a better one that was free.
Seem to have missed out on the M3s and 2Es despite
taking pains to send slowly.
G3VIP
RIG FT301 80 watts out, antenna 50m Long Wire
G3VQO
just the right length - struggling to find anybody
else to work
G3WRR
RIG - FT1000D
ANTENNAS - 50ft longwire at 15ft
Glad to see activity holding up - HFCC seem to have
hit on a successful format here - well done!
G3WYW
Computer failure 2 mins before start meant fallback
plan i.e. panic! did contest with manual key and paper
logging..just like the old days! Got a run going for
the last 30 minutes great fun!
G3WZT
Band conditions not as good as March but great fun just
the same.
Just about the right length and good to hear so many
club stations active.
Suits me better than AFS !
G3XSV
I must admit to being one of the many false-starters.
Worked 3 before being informed... Ooops! Reset.
Activity slightly down on the last one.
G3YAJ
Still a good contest
G3YMC
There seemed to solar activity and many signals
had auroral tones (even G3XTT 10 miles away!).
I was disappointed not to work more but it was hard
work on QRP and I thought activity was down from
other events (maybe the 1 hour time shift?). 73 Dave
G3ZBU
It seemed to take a long time before anyone
heard me! Tried to use SD keyer for first time.
G3ZRJ
SPENT ALMOST ENTIRE CONTEST CLG CQ WHICH MOST
UNUSUAL FOR ME THE CONTEST SEEMED TO GO PRETTY
WELL HERE . A TERRIFIC DIFFERENCE HAVING THE
FT902DM RATHER THAN THE TEN TEC SCOUT VASTLY BETTER
RECEIVER SIDE.

SOAPBOX:
G0AKC
My first CW contest in years. I came on to give my club
a few points. I was very rusty but really enjoyed it!
G0AOJ
Condx not quite as good tonight
G0GDU/P
FT1000MP & 160M DIPOLE @ 60FT
10W & INEFFICIENT ANTENNA MADE FOR HARD WORK
G0LHZ
I was suprised to work Lithuania, Yugoslavia,
Ukraine and the Czech Republic as well as
the usual French and German stations
G0MRH
Good conditions. Seemed to quickly work as many
stations as I could hear and then the rate
slowed down.
G0MTN
Didn't do as well this time around....
Fun to listen to those who tried to start an hour
early. Will Tim 'BEW publish soapbox comments
that go "wibble wibble" to the website ? Let's
find
out ! :-)
[Editor: Sure will]
G0OKF
SER NO SENT USING RIG KEYER - IT FALTERED.
CONDITIONS TO ME WERE ONLY FAIR.
I STARTED BADLY AND DID NOT IMPROVE MUCH!!
G0POT
Heard a few station start early due to the shift from
GMT to BST! Far fewer stations heard than during the
last SSB contest. All the machine guns kindly QRS'd
for me demonstrating the friendliness of the CW ops.
G0RAF
WE DIDN'T START AN HOUR EARLY-NOT US-WHO
WOULD BE SO STUPID-NOT US-WELL MAYBE !!
G0TPH
The format of this contest is so good, and now that
the
clocks have changed and the kids have gone to bed by
the
start of the contest it is even better
G3ASQ
Antenna problem-unable to work stations properly
G3CWI
Seemed quieter than other sessions - perhaps due to
holidays?
This made QRP rather easier than expected.
G3GLL
Conditions pretty good
Local qrn not good!
Otherwise a good little contest
G3HRH
Cndx not as good as before. Some QSB and heavier QRM.
G3JJZ
RIG - TS940 100W
ANTENNAS - 85ft LW
G3JRM
TEL 01502 740965
SUPER CONTEST, ENJOYED VERY MUCH.
TS850S, 80M DOUBLET UP 50FT
G3KUM
ENJOYABLE BUT PITY ABOUT CLOCK CHANGE.
OK FOR THOSE NIGHT OWLS
G3LIK
Nice friendly little contest. Missed first 30 minutes
G3NAS
IC756 and Inv vee at 60'
G3OGP
GOOD DURATION FOR AN EVENING CONTEST
G3ORY
Another fun session. Faded towards the end.
G3RIR
I wonder if a real start at 2000 BST would be a good
idea next year
G3RSD
A lot of fading signals going to be interesting as the
daylight lengthens
G3SET
Band crowded as normal below 3550 but few stations
in the QRS corral and none of them very QRS either.
Good contest.
G3SVD
Excellent series of contests - great fun.
This event seemed to be less well supported than previous
one
Looking forward to the next in the series
G4EOF
REALLY EXCELLENT AGAIN EVEN GOT A PILEUP GOING I NEED
MORE PRACTICE ---
G4FON
Conditions here not as good as last month.
This is a really effective and enjoyable contest format.
G4IRN
High winds gave me antenna problems to start off with.
Then
my logging laptop wouldn't work, then my FT1000 failed.
I was doomed from the start. FT857 to the rescue!
G4OGB
Very strange - condx good, but score down.
G4PIQ/P
First serious attempt at this event - some tweaking
of how I deal
with the second VFO needed for next time. Not sure that
antenna was optimum either (Delta Loop @ 23m, but set
up for low angle)
G4TPH
My first cw qso in 22 years.
G6FOP
poor conditions
GU0SUP
Had some fun, even if I did try to start one hour early!
Plenty of activity, but I really need to try CQ'ing
a bit more.
GU4YBW
Another fun evening conditions good but crowded.
GW3KDB
FT1000mp, Doublet at 45'
GW4ALG
Another fun event. My score was slightly down when
compared to the previous session (72 vs. 81 QSOs),
but I'm not sure whether this was due to less activity
or just different propagation conditions. This was my
first use of CT for DOS, and I was very pleased with
it.
I just need to improve my receive speed, and get some
more practice running CQs.
Rig: Homemade transceiver
Power: 5W RF output
Antenna: Inverted V Doublet
M0AJT
Very enjoyable lots of activity
M0BPQ
Couldn't hold a run freq with 10w, but overall was fun.
This was my best ever rate on cw, so I hope this
means I am improving. However, I still have a lot to
learn when it comes to cw contesting and these events
provide me with a good learning environment. See you
next month!
M0CMQ
CONDX: quite until after 21:15. |
