1st 1.8 MHz Contest 2005.
70 logs and 4 check logs were received for the first
Top Band Contest of 2005, an increase of 5 over last
year. All but one were e-mail logs. 33 UK operators
and 9 DX operators used SD software. Some of the Non-SD
logs contained non-existent codes which cost them points.
SD would have warned them of their error. Two operators
used the RSGB.CTY file instead of DXCC.CTY and lost
a some claimed U.S. bonus points. GW3SSK and G0IMB were
sending incorrect codes and all who worked them have
been credited with the correct codes. Use the formula
(QSOs x 3) + (Bonus x 5) - Pts to find how many points
you lost in the adjudication.
Congratulations to G3SJJ, Chris Burbanks who will collect
the Somerset Trophy this year. Runner-up is G0CKP Steve
Knell, who almost forgot to e-mail his log. Third was
G3BJ, Don Beattie, only 18 points behind the Section
A Leader.
Section B was won by EI5DI Paul O'Kane, followed by
F5VHY Dennis Andrews, Formerly a Section A competitor
as G3MXJ.
Sid Will, GM4SID.
*= Error-free log
check logs OY1CT, SP6KYU, UA9MQR, UA0AZ.
