Nice start to the 2005 season ! Problem with skidding
morse key need more sticky tape to hold it down !!
G3YHV
What a lot of weak signals here, even SJJ and BUO were
weak and crappy !
G3YMC
As predicted the F0 was below 3.5MHz and there
was virtually no inter G propagation. So it was
a struggle even to make my 25QSOs. The committee
should consider bringing forward this leg by an hour
next year to get round this problem. 73 Dave
G3ZBE
Very difficult conditions low signal levels and marked

G3ZBU

G3ZHE
Noise from S5 to S7 with bursts of S9. Got the feeling
that many gave up by
21:00 hrs as condx bad. Rig here Icom-756 pro 100W Ant:
130' centre fed doublet
30' up with 300 ohm ribbon and MFJ auto tuner. Lots
of fun many thanks.
G3ZRJ
YUKKKKKKKKKKK CONDX NOT A GOOD NIGHT FOR
QRP OPERATION. I HOPE TO HAVE A 25 AMP PSU
IN TIME FOR THE NEXT CC CONTEST LET RIP WITH 80W
FROM MY OMNI D
MANY MANY STNS CALLED WITHOUT RESPONSE
G4BUO
Conditions took a real dive 10 minutes into the contest.
Nice to hear some new calls active.
G4DDX
Awful conditions and band noise improved about 2115
with me. Also arcing insulator on pylons did not help!
G4EOF
Great they're back!
G4FON
Everthing was fine until around 20:30 when the band
collapsed! Still, it is fun to be back in the groove
again.

Great to get back on these sessions!

HERE WE GO AGAIN. HOPE TO ENTER A FEW MORE OF THE EVENTS
THIS YEAR
SLOW ALTHOUGH ENJOYABLE BASH AND A GOOD WARM UP FOR
AFS TO COME.
MY CODE SPEED WILL IMPROVE (HOPEFULLY)
GU4WTN
First 80m champs, enjoyed it a lot.
GW0ETF
A real struggle after the first 30 minutes when most
UK
signals dropped towards the noise level - thankful for
the few EU stations taking part
GW3KDB
DREADFUL INTER-G CONDITIONS
FT1000mp. Doublet at 45 ft.
GW3PRL
Poor condx
GW4ALG
A few days earlier Dave G3YMC had predicted the
likelihood of poor conditions, but I was still surprised
by the very poor propagation throughout this event.
I always look forward to the challenge of running QRP
in a predominantly QRO contest and, on this occasion,
I was certainly not disappointed!
Rig: Homemade transceiver
Power: 5W RF output

Lots of QRM at this location S7-9. Still I enjoyed it
for the first contest of the year

Most of the stations were very weak.

What awful conditions !
G0MRH
Late joining the contest and found the band
very noisy and very few stations readable
Calling for about 15 minutes brought in only
one station. Hope conditons improve for the
remainder of the contests
Logged using Super Duper and WinKey, worked fine.
G0MTN
Conditions favoured long distance contacts tonight
or perhaps everyone had decided to try QRP :-)
Really struggled to hear and be heard with my antenna
Good job its the taking part that counts.....
FT1000mp Field + Windom @ 18 feet (bit windy outside)
G0OKF
CONDX AWFUL

heard.

improving towards the end as usual!
Using SD v11.08
G3HRH
condx started poor and got worse in Cornwall
deep QSB on most signals
little activity above 3540
band usually wall-to-wall but not tonight
G3IZD
Very poor conditions even the known big signals were
mostly unreadable. Didnt realise condx so bad
until running gave 15Qs in 1st 40 mins!!
G3JJZ

SHAME ABOUT THE CONDX!!
G3KKQ
HARD GOING WITH QRP. CONDX NOISY WITH QSB
G3KLH
Good signals at the start but deteriorated rapidly soon
after 2100 with only 7 contacts in the last 20 minutes
G3KNU
Skip started long and then got longer. Many G's weak
G3LHJ
Good fun lots of activity and good to hear
a lot of up and coming CW Ops having a go.
G3LIK
Inter G signals varyable but nice to hear some European
signals coming through.
G3MXH/P
Had a clash of dates. The shortest committee meeting
on record!
G3NAS
Had to make do with a vertical as the top section of
my tower folded
over the day before bringing down the beams and LF antennas.
G3NFB
It's good to be back despite the very high noise level
preventing none but the strongest sigs to be heard
G3NKS
Terrible conditions signals mostly weak and
in the noise.
G3NLY
Do I get a bonus for the lowest score? cw not my strong
point, unfortunately.
FT1000mp, Trapped Inv. Vee.
2000-2130 rather too late for winter months.
G3OGP
First use of new version of SD - worked well
G3ORY
The band was very noisy and NVIS propagation virtually
absent.
G3PJT
Only half an hour operating
G3RIR
Apologies to those who called but I couldn't pull
through my high noise level
G3RSD
DIFFICULT CONDX REMINDED ME OF DRIVING IN A THICK FOG
G3SET
POOR PROPAGATION AND DELIBERATE QRM. NOT A GOOD START
G3SJJ
Propagation appeared to favour the south in the first
hour. G3WZT came
and sat on sat on my frequency after the first 20 minutes
and just wouldn't
budge. I guess he wasn't hearing me although he was
hearing the guys calling
him. Suspect I will have have several "Not in Log"
Qs.
G3SJX
My first effort in the 80m Club Championship
G3TBK
Very strange condx, Midland Gs very weak. GU stations
were strong also DLs and UTs
MANY OF LAST YEARS REGULARS NOT HEARD.
G3TKF
Very odd conditions towards the end - all G stations
disappeared into the noise !
G3TXF
Started late. Condx odd - everyone apart from G3WVG
(5km away) sounded
as if they were in the QRP section! Apologies to the
couple
