M0ERA Working PSK31 mainly. Unfortunately, there were
several RTTY stations in the PSK band. But all in all
good fun.
M0PTR Rig: IC-7400. Power: 30W. Ant: 23m Doublet at
10m
M0SPC Hard work this evening.
M0UNI Kenwood TS-570D worked very well as always. Latest
version of my home made interface worked a treat. Used
N1MM logger for the first time in this contest
M3CVN Well wasen't going to do data any more but the
club needs the points! PSK: Some vry vry wide signals
killing my whole screen RTTY: Can't people space out
a bit more would make it easier for QRP to be hrd! O'well
bring on CW again!
M3DVQ "FT1000 AT 10 WATTS, DIPOLE AT 75 FEET FT1000
AT 10 WATTS, DIPOLE AT 75 FEET
SOAPBOX: CONTEST SQUASHED BETWEEN DOING A-LEVEL MATHS
AND CHEMISTRY REVISION PAPERS!"
M3TBK/P IC706 DIPOVE AT 30 FEET ON NFD SITE VERY DIFFICULT
TO RECEIVE WITH NO FILTERS. SRI TO THOSE WHO CALLED
ME AND DIDN'T MAKE QSO.
GU0SUP Seemed to be hard work from this far South.
There were a few loud stations who weren't hearing me,
and weak stations who got me first time. There were
also many stations using AFC & NET, which made things
more difficult.
GU4WTN Wondered what was going on with all the "split"
frequency operation tonight but then the penny dropped..…Doooh,
too many stations with the AFC / NET function activated
chasing each other up and down the band
GW3GUX Once again RTTY stn in PSK segment.
M0ANM As usual an entertaining 90 minutes |

SOAPBOX:
G0ADH Still having a bit of a problem with logging
- more practice required
G0BXH I thought the RTTY operators were supposed to
stay out of the PSK31 section of the band.
G0GDU No response to CQs, so stuck to Search & Pounce
Assumed skip was not in my favour
G0JLF All q's serach and pounce Never seen sparks inside
a PL259 before! Waited for the storm to go away before
connecting the 80m antenna
G0MTN A quick sprint - 34 QSOs in the last 24 minutes
of the contest. Looks like some great scores again.
G0THY Got a new keyboard 80m upsets it need to get that
sorted the old one was ok but it broke
G3GLL What a racket !! I'll get the hang of it one day!!
G3HRH Sorry to the several who called me but went down
in the noise Hard work this time
G3LHJ Lots of Activity but as always hard to penatrate
the cenral wall from down here in the SW. but good fun
enjoyed the challenge
G3ORY The band seemed more crowded than in previous
data sessions
G3RSD GAVE IT MY BEST TRY.....MUST TRY HARDER
G3RZF Tough going this time!
G3SVD After some frustrating events in previous data
mode events. this time everything worked more or less
as it should. Good fun and enjoyable
G3TKF 60dB over 9 QRN put me off at the start - so a
little late starting!
G3TLH Still learning about contesting with RTTY
G3TXF Yes, I'm slowly getting the hang of this RTTY
stuff. Soon it'll be time to try PSK. Contest exchanges
on RTTY are getting snappier, including my own!
G3VCA I cannot get on with this mode. Long live CW
G3VIP HOMEBREW LOGGER DEEP QSB - STATIC - HARD TO FIND
CLEAR FREQ
G3VYE What a shambles here. A very late start, I had
to operate from my workbench surrounded by tools etc.
and I could not get MMTTY to work properly in contest
mode. It's a wonder I made any contacts at all. Good
fun though - beats watching the rubbish on the box !
G3WVG 100w TS930 Dipole at 70 ft ..Writelog with rttyrite
G3XSV Thunder storm raging 10 mins before start and
well into the contest.
G3XZW Tonight we introduced some club members to digimodes
RTTY appeared to be the favoured mode
G3YEC First time data mode
G3YOA LOW SCORE DUE TO TECHNICAL PROBLEMS
G4BCA TUNDERSTORM CAUSED A FEW PROBLEMS!
G4BYG Amusing to hear all the runners waiting for the
starters gun.Just like a marathon here. First hour steady
run but hit the wall as usual at 2100 and faltered to
the finishing line.
G4EBK Strange conditions, very deep and fast QSB again.
Poor first hour very good last half hour.
G4FKA Life and death stuff in the west tonight! Thunder,
lightning, rain and static throughout and some very
strange signals.
G4FPH Glad I bought some narrow filters for the RX!
G4FQI First contest outing!
G4OGB Lots of data corruption tonight, had to ask for
a lot of repeats.
G4OIG My inverted vee dipole didn't want to work for
me.
G4WGE MIXW crashed 5 times in the first 15 minutes Arghh
- I hate computers!
G6BOX 80m in good shape tonight. Plenty of over 40db
sigs. Good fun as usual.
G6FOP ENJOYABLE CONTEST
G7VRK good contest to night
GJ4CBQ 2nd go at Data. Much more enjoyable this time!
Cascaded 500Hz filters + DSP helped a lot. Unlike last
time, I practised using the RTTY software BEFORE the
contest!
GM0ELP very relaxing plenty G3 stations ran for full
contest used linear to save rig
GM3ZBE Hard work from up here this time, couldn't run
at all. The time change is beginning to bite up here,
the earlier start is making things much more difficult
from GM.
GU0IDA Poor conditions this time I thought, lots of
static from near by thunder storm, people not listening
out and using AFC + NET on their sowtware which causes
a lot of problems.
