Low Power Field Day, 2006. There couldn’t have been any better weather for a Low Power field day this year, in fact it might have been too hot to be in a tent this year, and surprisingly enough the nice weather didn’t encourage more portables stations. There was a slight increase in the number of QRP fixed stations taking part, and on balance almost the same total number of logs were received this year compared with 2005. Congratulations to G0CKP for winning the 10W Fixed section and the 1930 Committee Cup, G4FOX/P Op G3XYC for winning the 10W Portable section and the Housten-Fergus trophy , Frank GM3JKS/P for winning the 3W Portable section and the Southgate Trophy, and for the third year running Graham G3VIP wins the 3W Fixed section. Conditions seemed to be average for the time of the day with some stations reporting good propagation and some reporting very noisy conditions. Better conditions seemed to favour the more Northerly station. Because there are four sections to this contest, can
I ask all those who send in logs to make sure the section
entered, is clearly marked in the cabrillo log, and
to make sure that all the received data columns are
listed – this helps to speed up the adjudicating.
– (Thanks RXP) Many thanks to YL3DX, M0ROA/P and UY1U for their check logs. A big thank you to all who took part and supported Low Power Field day, see you next year. Dave G3RXP Soapbox. M5MDX/P Late start due to generator problems. However

to allow the operators to cool down! Looking forward

some obvious newcomers with good signals.
