    Results - SSB Field Day 2006.

    The weather was miserable during the SSB Field Day weekend in 2006. This may help explain why the overall number of entries was slightly down on 2005 levels against the trend of recent years. Most of the reduction was in the Open section where some of the top contenders from previous years were missing. A few had moved to the Restricted section, which was well supported with 26 entries.

    Logs were cross-checked against all the European logs obtained from other societies. This represented 310 logs, which allowed a large proportion of QSOs to be checked. Any station that made an entry can request a UBN report for their log from G3XSV < g3xsv@blueyonder.co.uk>. The UBN report includes a listing of all QSOs that were penalised.

    The Open section was won by a large margin by the Bristol CG, G6YB/P, in the absence of their main competition in the last few years of Lichfield and the Manx Kippers. It was a tight battle for second place with Sheffield ARC, G3RCM/P, just beating East Notts CG, G3TBK/P.

    Three A’s CG, operating as GW0AAA/P took first place in the Restricted section followed by Cray Valley RS, G3RCV/P, in second.
