Ropoco 1 Contest, 2007 Several entrants remarked that activity seemed down ... in fact, more entries were received than for the previous event and the leaders’ QSO counts were also up.Fraser Robertson, G4BJM, again leads the table by a convincing margin, but this time with an error-free log, which earns him the Verulam Silver Jubilee Trophy. Clive Penna, GM3POI, takes second place, also with an error-free log, and Colin Smithers G4CWH takes third place. Two entrants lost heavily because they attempted to correct corrupted postcodes which had been sent to them. In RoPoCo you must send on exactly what you receive ... failure to do so costs you points! Steve Knowles G3UFY + ... Verulam Silver Jubilee Trophy SOAPBOX G4BJMSlow start but steady throughout. Lots of Qs found on second receiver G4CWH It's amazing how fast the H in my postcode becomes an S. And even more surprising that the M becomes an O! G4RCG Great fun, as usual. Never got my postcode back but certainly got some wierd ones coming back. Still think this shold be a Sunday afternoon contest, to get more people on! G3LIK Always a pleasant contest with lots of friendly calls. Had to keep up for winning the two cups last year G3KAF Enjoyable as always GM3JKS An enjoyable contest, but needs more publicity to rouse more participants G3LET Activity a little disappointing. All signals were good to the end and consideration might be given to staging this event at a more social time. G3ZGC A good contest but very noisy location here. M0AJT Enjoyed it once again. Much more activity would make a nice contest even better. G0CKV My first attempt in RoPoCo. G4FAL The last hour was quiet - could do with another 100 participants! G3KNU Should be on much later! G4EBK Average performance from here again. Didn't seem to be as many on as usual but could have been conditions. G0MTN Spent first ten minutes fiddling with antenna. Wondered if activity would be low due to the CDXC dinner. Plodded along listening on 2nd RX all the time, maybe a little too much - not enough CQing perhaps. G3LHJ Good condx but ran out of stations to work in the last half hour - I guess not so many on this time. Great fun - some wierd and wonderful postcodes, HI! G4BLI The best year yet for corruption of my postcode. GM4SID Enjoyed RoPoCo again. G4FON Good fun, if a little light on participants. Some very strange postcodes received and, inevitably, mine got smashed when I got it back again. G0ADH Another enjoyable couple of hours. G2AFV Usual S9+ QRM from the nearby crematorium! G4OGB Very slow! Where were all the regulars? G3RFH Didn't seem to be a lot of activity. I have made the same score as last time. G3JRM One or two interesting "April 1sr" postcodes but, all in all, a lively Sunday Morning workout. G4XPE Conditions good G3ZRJ Chronic back pain limits my operating time so had to do what I could. No certificate this year, just giving out points! G3GLL Seemed to be lots of activity - pity I had to pack up early! G3HKO Enjoyable contest - thanks to all! G0GDU Were condx down or were there less stations on? Heard my own code several times but did not receive it back. G4WGE Rushed preparation - didn't get logging right until about QSO 8 ... otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable contest. G3WRR Got on a bit late - but enjoyable as usual. G4OOC It was great. I could not believe all the postcodes. First time I have done RoPoCo and it was great fun! G4KTI Too early start for me! G6FOP Great fun! G3VIP Late getting on - condx reasonable G3GMS No response to my CQ calls so S & P only! G3ZHE Several years since I last entered, but lots of fun.
