|
Soapbox. MM3BRR80m is hopeless during the day from up here G4BLI/P An inquisitive herd of Dartmoor cows caused some interesting moments during setting up!! Good level of QRP stations from the continent. A great day! G3JRM/P Operated from Lowestoft beach, fortunately WX was reasonable. Had many enquiries from dog walkers and strollers. The local coastguard turned up asking what we were doing, when told we were radio hams they went away happy. G3ZRJ I was pleased to give out some points only wish I could have spent longer G3VIP Deep QSB, good selection of /p stations G4EBK Was hoping conditions would have improved for this years LPFD but if anything they were worse. Very high noise levels here in Grimsby. G3SJJ First serious effort in this contest though I have adjudicated it many years ago! Decided to target the Trophy for 10w Fixed. Ran SO26 with the K3 on 40m using a delta loop fed fore high angle and a pair of phased verticals for a bit of gain into continental Europe, and an Ft1000MP on 80m with a dipole at 57ft. Enjoyed the two sessions and learnt a lot which is noted for next time. G6NUM Average start and then it seemed to go downhill. G4DDX Tried LW aerial this year with 2 telescopic masts at 20ft.WX very windy and had heavy showers during which SWR went high not unexpected with 300 ribbon feed. At lunch break noticed one mast down. G0ORH/P Very enjoyable Sunday, plenty of stn's to work, condx were fair. G3VYI Lots of good ops with weak sigs and good ears. Noisy condx on 40M G4ARI/P Cold and windy day so no problems with flies this year! G4AYM/P Rig IC718 Antenna 132ft centre fed in inverted V centre at 11m DL6DSA Sorry, my QTH is in my garden, with building: Only good for section "fixed" EI7GY/P I pitched my tent on the side of a mountain and enjoyed the views between QSOs! A good demonstration of what can be done with QRP G3LX/P Everyone enjoyed the WX, lunch and contest! G0MTN A little casual operating. 40m very noisy - was not able to hear many stns GM0ELP/P Plenty of portable stns to work. Condx were either poor or there wasn't enough stns looking to take part G7PVZ/P 1st time on, found impossible to tune on 80. Only when dismantling, my Wife found the aerial wire had snapped away from the trap!!! Tnx for everyone for putting up with my wobbly CW. G4ARN/P Entered casually during club beach BBQ but too much wine by quality of log! G3ZGC/P We used this contest to demonstrate to the public. We were operating from Crofton Beam Engines near Hungerford DD1IM Due to strong qsb I lost some stns - sri friends! Unfortunately I could not work the whole contest period & had some interrupts. But did meet agn many friends & appreciate the nice way of qsoing, ufb! |
