G4FNL The contest went well for me. I was extremely grateful to everyone for the QSO's. G4FSU Computer gremlins tonight. Sorry for the messed up exchanges! G4GZB SD helped the old boy a lot tonight! As always. G4IUF Very slow tonight QRN a pain near the funish. Yes Paul enjoyed using SD !! G4LMW Finally getting the hang of the Orion. Condx got v noisy after 2000Z but good fun. G4LWB Noise free initially but increasing later G4MEM Good activity levels and strong signals helped overcome static. G4OGB Rather noisy tonight. G4RCG Started very slow but picked up as it went along. did not think there was as much activity as usual but still enjoyed it. G4RGK Spent the first 30 minutes on the wrong antenna wondered why signals were down... G4TSH I think we have finally cracked it! Antenna seems to work now. Good Conditions static not too bad. Only 2 GM's worked. G4WUG Excelent contest again thanks for the points and the patience to all. N1mm faultless again...Bring on the next one. G6AY/P Operated from my brother's QTH in Somerset. 40 feet Inverted Vee Dipole and K2. Great fun but activity seemed to be down. At one stage thought the I had stumpled into a PA contest! G7SKR An enjoyable evening. Local S8-S9 QRM made it difficult at times. GM4OSS Band noisy GW0ETF Encouraging that each time I take part I come across some new callsigns..... GW3KDB FT1000MP 100Watts Doublet at 45Ft. M0LUV 2nd cw contest attempt! M0MDF Not a bad night though I had to finish early. M0NQN Slightly noisy conditions but plenty of activity kept busy throughout the 90 minutes M3WCK Another enjoyable contest M5ALG Late start and poor conditions here MM0BQI NOISE ! Thunder storms all round QRN well over the nine with few stations breaking through. Moved the leg of the inverted L closer to the radio just before the contest and this increased RF feedback so apologies to those that received more than one message or none at all!! Good fun thanks for the Qs. MW1LCR Dreadful conditions, many stations being snowed under by noise. This didn't help as I was using decoding software and keyboard sending ! Called many stations down south, who couldn't hear me. Some big signals, but even those guys couldn't hear me. Thanks for the points. PG7V After some time of less activity joined in again. After tuning my antenna before the contest I forgot to increase the output power again didn't notice the pwr-meter so the first 15 QSO's were made with only 5 Watts. Lot's of QRN hard to copy some signals. |
SOAPBOX: F/G3MXH/P Very heavy QRN. Had three storms surrounding me at the start so pulled the plug for a while. Very slow going!!! G0CLP/P Awfull condx inter g not good G0DAY Conditions appeard good all of the way through the contest seamed to call fewer times and the highest score for me so far all S&P G0DVJ High static level. Tired operator! Good EU activity level G0EUN Poor conditions. G0FYX Busy band. Nice to hear. SD performed well. G0GDU 10w to W3DZZ @30ft. Missed 1st 29 minutes - stuck to S&P G0LHZ Great Fun G0MLY First time using Winkey tonight - just S&P to test it out. Seems to work well with SD, so may be brave and try running next month! It seemed to me that some stations were not QRS-ing for us newbies as much as usual tonight. Lots of static crashes around as well as much QRM! G0MRH Late start and PC logging problems didn't help G0OKF Band noisy for me. G0PSE My highest score yet in the club challenge. G0RAF Arrived late at the club house but every point counts. G0VZQ/M Operated from car on holiday in Cornwall. Wire was better than mobile whip (bottom loaded). Surrounded by hills but gave it a try Lots of Static and some Fading. G2AA certainly more difficult operating qrp.might change the g5rv for a 80 netre dipole next time.sd faultless as usual. G3BJ Huge static levels here made some copy rather difficult which is reflected in the rate G3GLL SD worked well. High local noise levels. QRN getting bad towards end of contest. Otherwise good First contest with new K3 - very good ! G3HEJ Very good contest SD fine on 'Post-log' but I paper logged during the Contest G3HRH Rather noisy. Plenty of activity. GMs rather weak this time G3IZD Again good to work many of the more newly licenced G3JRM Busy band plus noisey conditions with qrn helped to keep the totals down to the usual average but "ONE DAY!" still had a great nights contesting and of course SD worked flawlessly G3LDI Static pretty bad but guess that's to be expected at this time of year. G3LET High static level made copying difficult - several calls missed altogether. G3LHJ Condxs not so good for Qrp tonight - but enjoyable certainly more room than on SSB sessions G3LIK Good conditions tonight. Nice to see a lot of friendly calls. Good to see some M5 trying their luck G3MIR Enjoyable using sd. G3NKS With my low antenna a mixture S&P and CQing works best. Could only manage one hour, had to leave the fun at 9pm. G3OLB Apart from a lot of QRN propagation conditions were actually quite good and the scoring rate high. G3PDH/P Operated from campsite in Motorhome with Hustler mobile whip so tough going. G3PHO Not a bad night but strong static G3SEM Temporary station from a Lay-by on the A12 Not used to the IC 7000...that said useless operator!! G3TBK FT1000MP 100 watts. Dipole at 75 feet G3TKF Static a big problem towards the end - and apologies to a few when my software was causing problems ! G3TLH Reasonable conditions and remembered to plug in my aerial this time! G3TXF Steady signals throughout. Nice to hear several new callsigns joining in each time. The callsign 'mix' on CW probably has a higher proportion of G3s than on the other two modes! G3VCA One of the more difficult contests with 20db over 9 static 550ft delta loop not ideal for such. I do not have any dificulty in using my ears to read bursts of 40+ words/m I wish some would repeat numers when the static does hit. G3VDB Fumbled the start [again!] - need a better keyboard crib! So again apologies to callers. Next time, I will get it right! G3VIP RIG IC7000 10W - 40M LW - Homebrew logger Plenty of sigs struggle after worked strong ones. G3VPW QRN high but started the contest running and didn't S&P until the last 10 minutes. My best ever QSO count on CW. G3VQO only available for the first forty minutes G3WRR My pervasive S9+10 dB noise level actually stopped 20 minutes into the contest! Was able to make QSOs comfortably for a change - and was even abe to call CQ and get a few takers. Conditions seemed quite good. G3WVG FT1000mp 100W dipole at 70ft. G3YEC Good to work Paul EI5DI founder of SD. Very big bursts of static this QTH and symptoms of fast QSB. G3YHV Soapbox G3YMC A good evening with reasonable conditions and a steady rate of QSOs. As always I could have done better! Some thunder static and local QRN but it didn't really affect copy. G3ZBU Used SD to key the transmitter most of the time. I had to toggle priority so apologise to all early contacts for the dubious Morse! G3ZGC/A My normal /A QTH was not available so I went "over the border" to Hampshire to G3SVD's QTH. Rig IC775DSP set to 10w to doublet up about 50 ft. Lots of noises around tonight. Some static. G3ZRJ Generally good inter-UK prop no many GMs heard No EI stns heard. Continentals way down in strength as you would expect this month. First contest using left hand to send on ele paddle ! G3ZVW QRN got worse as time progressed. G4ABX Band was in good condition! G4CKH Activity seem'd down on previous events easy to find run frequencies. Another enjoyable evening G4DDX Very good first 1/2 hr then the QRN took its toll. Apologies to anybody I could not copy.but enjoyed the evening as usual. use only hand keying in these contests it's easier to manage. I use SD as usual with my left hand! G4EKT Good contest G4FAL Had to investigate a false alarm at the office in the middle of the contest so lost half an hour. Still thanks for all the QSOs. G4FKA Mad dash back from the south coast to come on as a second half substitute! |
