SOAPBOX:
G0AJJ Some deep QSB but good fun! An improvement on last month.
G0DAY Conditions appeard to be good all of the way through the contest.
G0DWV I much prefer RTTY to PSK ......
G0GDU No success with PSK G0GFQ Strange conditions but one of my better efforts
G0HDV Sorry to those who called - PC crashed 4 times
G0MLY Seemed
busy on PSK - got trodden on a few times! Apologies to my earlier
contacts when I grappled with the macro software and failed miserably!
G0MTN Couldn't face any more contesting after WPX CW in the heat!
G0ORH Some
VERY wide signals on RTTY & PSK tonight so wide they wiped out most
of the bandwidth. NOT GOOD. Still high power being used. Contest
committee need to get a grip on this Issue!!!
G0SIQ Had a nasty computer glitch around 19.44
G0VZQ Still need a lot of experimentation with Aerials in small area.
G3GLL Struggling with this RTTY - I'll get it one day !
G3HRH Quite
busy but a lot of QSB on PSK31 signals. Apologies for the confusion
over dupes in PSK31. I now have the answer. TX failed at 21.29 in
protest against PSK31.
G3LDI Wasted several minutes at the start trying PSK62 one QSO!!
G3LHJ Another hour & half slog even worst than last time.
G3PDH Seemed to be more stations on psk this time.
G3TBK Good
conditions tonight with no need for repeats on RTTY but still a few
unreadable signals on PSK. Why do the PSK addicts have to send so much
waffle?
G3TLH Conditions difficult for QRP data
G3TLI Good contest to encourage newcomers
G3TXF Sat
for 60 mins working RTTY then finished up doing PSK in one single 30
min session. At least on RTTY when there's an erroneous shift character
you have some small chance of deciphering the serial number that has
got switched to letters, but there's no chance on PSK. On PSK garbage
is total garbage!
G3VCA Quieter
conditions hence less of a headache. Practise makes perfect they say,
but PSK31 is so frustrating - only 'forced' to use it in contests.
G3VIP Good
rate on RTTY for QRP S&P dropped off on PSK. Some stations on PSK
came back off frequency. By the time I tuned them in I'd missed the
info. Understanding of the use of NET & AFC needed.
G3VQO Actually had one QSO using BPSK63 !!! Steady stream of callers throughout on both modes.
G3YOA Good contest
G3ZBU QRP
same as last month. However the audio level kept dropping from time to
time same as last month! Probably dodgy wiring in the audio
attenuator. Used MMVARI which works very nicely indeed but once I did
forget to press QSO twice with right callsign in. Luckily I keep a
paper log just in case so error was sorted out after the event. Signals
seemed a lot narrower than last month where there were some very wide
noises. I threatened to press PrtSc and send the evidence to the
culprits but did not have to!
G3ZGC Difficult for QRP tonight I thought.
G3ZVW A productive session with good runs on both RTTY and PSK.
G4ABX Good contest. Lots of weak signals!
G4EBK Not so busy as usual must have been the good weather keeping them out the shack.
G4FKA Another late start but got a few in the log!
G4FSU Starting to get the hang of this new fangled data stuff. Now to get the rate up a bit! Thanks to all.
G4LMW Power
failure at exactly 1900Z caused by faulty dishwasher killed the PC and
killed (and corrupted) the logging software. No QSOs for first 30 mins
then struggled with "alien" data software (could not do PSK).
Appropriate that I should end with 13 QSOs.....disaster!
G4OGB Condx good plenty of activity.
G4RCG Good fun again and seemed like there were plenty of stations on tonight on both PSK and RTTY.
G4WUG A few problems to start with on PSK but all OK in the end. Thanks to all for the points.
G4ZFE A good RTTY contest. A dull PSK contest.
G6FOP Strange conditions and a late start did not help score,
G7SKR About 50/50 RTTY/PSK this evening.
G7VRK Very late start - last 10 mins
GW0ETF A
combination of birthday and the sun-drenched mountains of Snowdonia led
to a slightly delayed start and then it took 25 minutes to get 6 PSK31
Qs in the log!! Contesting with PSK is like swimming in treacle...
M0CES Diffult going qrp
M0CHK First
time on data in this contest. A bit different mixing RTTY & BPSK31
but good fun. W.A.R.E.C's team of 1 has another go. 73's 'till the next
time.
M0RBE Getting better at this.
M0VBY Much better this time
M0WTG Struggle today with strange propagation.
PA0MIR Well
this time managed the 50+ QSO count. Beginning was slow but last half
hour went quite well. Wish you all a good holiday and hope cuagn in
August.
