Individual Sessions - 18th June SSB
some QRM but enjoyable contest GW0ETF The first 15 minutes were superb and then someone found out I had a clear run frequency (how dare I..!?). That was it then and the rest was a real struggle.... GW4BVE New antenna and new feeder made a big difference My run frequency was reasonably clear until 2010 utc M0DCD Blooming 'eck I've actually enjoyed this session! M0FRH Thank you to all who worked me M0ITY Vy noise and lot of QRM. 2el high angle / full size 4SQ+ TS940S. Thanks for Qs. Lost foot switch and was talking to myself for a minute hi.some big scores. 73 , it has been good fun. M0MDF Not bad Condx but still a struggle with 10 watts. M0NKS lots of QRM tonight Best personal score yet. M0SFG Very enjoyable the bands improved as the clock ticked down M0WTG Good contest. Some QSB but conditions good. M0XDX Very busy but enjoyable. M0XJP Especially good tonight very enjoyable! M0XSM Band Conditions reasonable Very easy to use programme M1ADX Band very Full! Lots of noise. M1EBV Great fun M3UJL Not bad for 10w and a bit of wire thrown over a tree. M3WYX Superb conditions and bombproof reciever performance from the new ic7600 resulted in a very enjoyable contest. Thanks to everyone for the points. M6RKY wish I could have had more time on the contest... Had a log operator breakdown..haha i'll get a pedal for next time. MW0RZC only able to operate short time MW1LCR Conditions dipped between 8:45pm and 9:05pm....No GM or GI Stations heard, and mainly Southern Stations. Some very big signals as well. Very enjoyable... PA0MIR Well the last of the series I suppose. Off to the sprints now. Conditions much harder than last month and found no good spot to go calling in this full band. Anyway had fun so hope to meet all again next time. |
SOAPBOX: 2E0BTO First attempt and great fun 2E0NLK I prefer sd find it easy to use G0AAA 100W + dipole at 65ft. Mid-Summer conditons means less EU QRM ! G0AJJ Best score yet. Apologies to those who thought I was going deaf.....the battery failed in the headphones half way through and I hadn't noticed! G0CLP/P Its all about holding your frequency G0DAY Seamed hard going at first then picked up to the end G0EUN Good contest and conditions. G0FYX Busy band. Personal best CC. SD worked well. G0GDU Ft1000 - 10w into w3dzz @ 26ft agl G0HSA Nice contest but very hot in the shack. SD performed well as usual. Looking forward to the final series next month G0KDS Absolutely clear freq for last 30 mins G0KYS All S&P. Late on and never found a spare frequency G0MLY Very busy as usual with quite a few /p stations on. Lots of QRM though! No surprises there! Thanks to all stations for the points. G0NUZ I used SD for logging - it's great. G0OKF Suggestion -- limit entrants to 100watts. G0UIQ not bad but more qrm than last contest? G2BKZ Search and pounce. Busy band and good humoured G3GHS hard work in places G3HRH Very busy with much QRM G3IZD Very busy band indeed and struggling to hold the run frequency with a poor antenna G3LDI Busy noisy band tonight. S-9 noise from a local who was only 100yds G3LHJ Very enjoyable - better night this time but still a battle through the wall of QRM from down here in the South West. did not hear so many GM's this time G3LIK Lots of QRM from high powered stations I was under the impression it should be 100 watts only for CC test. Good to hear some 2E0 stations taking part. Conditions quite good on the whole G3NDJ sd is very good G3OLB Power meter reading 8 - 10 watts peak during the whole contest. G3PDH Busy as usual and could'nt really find a run frequency. G3PHO That was hard work!! I thoughtI had a good run frequency at the start but it was not to be so I stupidly went S&P and it took ages to find another clear slot to run. The QRM level was incrediable. I had the FT950 set to 1.8kHz bandwidth for much of the contest together with 18dB attenuation and even then I had big probems all night to read the weaker signals. Wrong tactics = poor score. Sorry Sheffield ARC G3SNU No gm and only one continental this time G3TBK Huge signal from M3WYX both during the warm-up period and throughout the contest. G3TKF Noisey but good conditions. G3TXF With it still being daylight at the end even in the South-East the dynamics of the 80m CC Contest change. Plenty of activity as usual. G3VCA Powercut after 28 minutes - were unable to reload SD log so apologies to any one we duped! G3VDB Very enjoyable. Some good runs achieved. Last 10 minutes very slow G3VIP RIG IC7000 10W - 40M LW - Homebrew logger Wall to wall noise very hard work running genuine QRP G3VPW Good balance between S&P and running. No GMs heard at all. G3VQO just managed the last twenty minutes or so G3YEC Some heavy noise from the continent at times but by and large good contest with SD as good as ever. G3ZBU excellent conditions. Very busy for the whole contest. G3ZGC Running IC7700 set to 100w to 132 ft wire wrapped into 55 ft long garden. I could not find a clear channel until near the end. People kept trying to nick it! Anyway I am pleased with the score for my poor antenna. G3ZVW Good conditions at start but band got noisy towards the end. Lots of activity. Tnx all for QSOs. G4ABX Lots of QRM and some wide signals! G4CLA Had a very noisy frequency to start then is cleared but conditions seemed to change and had to S&P to keep the run rate going. G4DDX Very crowded as usual but enjoyable particularly the fun comments. At last no QRN but heavy QRM. Finally managed to get a run going around 2100 when conditions seemed to change. I use SD as usual. G4FAL Stumbled across a rag-chewing group who were just "tying the knot" and was able to move onto their quiet and warm frequency at about 45 minutes in. Bit stuffy in the shack tonight as a there is a wasp's nest in the roof just outside my velux window and I daren't open it to let in the fresh air. G4FNL Lots of activity but there were many getaways. I didn't work any GM's which is unusual. (I guess that it's too light in the eves.) A lot of newer callsigns with some impressively high serial numbers - terrific. Thanks to all for the QSOs G4GZB Bad start but went well later. Quite enjoyed it. G4LMW Crowded but good fun. Witnessed a few bits of "argy-bargy" among the throng. V amusing G4MEM/P Lovely Yorkshire Dales evening, Heavy summer showers and a vivid double rainbow! G4OOC Band conditions were good and SD performed faultlessly G4PIQ Bit of operating from home for the last half... G4RCG Was very noisy and signals were really quiet which made it very hard to copy then after 21.00 the noise dropped and the signals came right up. Good fun as usual but still prefer CW anyday SD worked great as normal G4SJX hard work but fun G4VTO I used SD for logging - it's great. G4VUD very busy lots of g stations heard no GM/GI G4WUG Started a bit late.....Very busey as usual on SSB and difficult to find a frequency but all good fun! G6UBM great fun when I called CQ G6UJC Best ever for me! But still well off the pace of the big guns :-) G7RFB I used SD for logging - it's great. G7SHG good contest. thanks to all stations 73 john linda G7SKR 20 minutes late starting but a nice busy contest. Someone tried to trip me up with a 55 report but failed. G7VRK one of them nights ! |
