M0GXB First ever SSB contest FT101 (early) driving 6m dublet 5m AGL (in loft) M0JEC FT450 10W 80m Dipole ATC Hall Newbury. M0KTM QRP & QRM a very challenging combination, good fun though. M0LUV Band was in good condition for a change but late starting M0MDF Condx were better tonight. M0MGF SD is a doddle to use thank you. M0NKS not too bad with qsb tonight some strange noises and other conversations in the middle of the band. But it is a free world hi hi M0NNH Great Contest Hard work managed to keep freq Brill M0RBE/A Low end of the band very crowded and the QRM made some QSOs difficult. An interesting night. M0SCG Great contest with many stations to work, a lot better than the last contests earlier in the year. M0SFG Lots of noise M0XDF So much QRM took a long time for me to get back into this. M0XDX Clear frequency+great conditions=my best score ever! Tnx for the points. M0XJP Always fun. New antenna needs adjusting! Conditions getting better. M0YMK Heavy going for me. M5ALG G5RV at 25'at start 10' at finish!! MM0GOR Very noisy qrm tonight - only managed a few MM0GPZ K3 100w and inverted L. Reasonable band conditions and low noise for me but I struggled to be heard. MM0VTV First time i have taken part in the contest band was crowded couldn't find a run frequency at the start but with 15 mins to go found a good run and went for it! See you all next month. MW0LLO I really enjoyed my first attempt at contesting! SD's "SHARE" command stopped an earlier prob with PTT.. MW0RZC slow going much european qrm SE5S First try. Lot of QRM and hard to get tru Thanks for some fun on thursday evening! SM5CSS K3 100W to Dipole |
SOAPBOX: 2E0KLP First time in UK contest 2E0RKY A very enjoyable contest and I got my highest score ever. It was alot easier with a better transceiver DK8NT My first RSGB Championship in SSB. The 22 LP QSOs (after 66 QRP QSOs in CW) came as a little shock: A decline by a factor of 30! And the QRM drove me almost crazy. It was like in a pub when three equally loud conversations are going on. Well anyway it was interesting and I didn't give up - thanks for this challenge! G0AAA Great conditions .. FT1000mp (100w version) dipole at 70ft G0ADH Once again - thank you for the patience shown with my speech problems G0AJJ Conditions improving with much more activity. Thanks to all for points. G0BNC Band busy but xyl to son on skype so missed most of contest! G0CLP With an even playing field of 100w what ants are the big guns using? G0EUN Very good Conditions. G0FYX Very busy band. Good to hear many new CC callsigns. G0ICJ Lower noise level than recent times G0JLF The Usual zoo G0KDS A lot of bickering G0KYS Good fun when I eventually found a frequency - 2107! G0LHZ QRM QRM QRM and some QRM G0MTN Very crowded tonight. G0NUZ Very hard slog but enjoyable - cu in the next 1 G0PEB Good fun using 10W QRP. G0RAF Very good conditions band full of signals but spoiled from 21.00hrs by a whistler RS 5&9+30Db G0RXA Late start due to phone call but once on there were stations everywhere. Good activity and good to be able to improve my score by 10. G0VGS Conditions changeable but better than previous months. Great fun :) G0VOK Very crowded band but super fun. G1DYN Increase in stations calling QRZ with no callsign. G1RVP Heavy QRM this eve. G2BKZ Hunt and pounce again. Lots of lovely strong stations! G3HRH Good conditions. Very heavy QRM. Thanks to those who persevered G3IZD Finally the long awaited improvement in conditions for the far NW of England. G3LDI Poor start for five minutes due to keyboard confusion - or G3 syndrome! G3LHJ Very full band and lots of QRM - the Big sigs were winning through. G3MXH Found Conditions very good and managed to hold a freq for some time and maintaned a pretty good QSO rate. G3PDH The usual racket and struggle with insufficient space! G3PHO The night started off very badly for me as just 5 minutes before the start I got a phone call to tell me a very close amateur friend G3PFR had become SK. I just didn't have the enthusiasm for this contest. G3PYC Wide open conditions this time. SD is a must for us old timers G3RCV/P Coincided with a Cray Valley club night so we operated from the hall with a dipole at 20ft gave several club members a chance to operate including Jim M6JHG who made his first ever contest QSOs G3SJJ Had very deliberate QRM from some DLs at the start on 3760 and had to move after 25 mins. S&P until last 20 mins when I found 3749 clear! Many stations had too much mic gain and processing. G3SNU TRIO 830 170ft.DOUBLETAND SD. G3TBK Forced to run low power as antenna swr went very high as soon as power level was inreased. Evidently something has failed whilst I was in J8. Situation got worse as contest progressed. Only just back from J8. G3VCA very crowded with good conditions - 18db attenuator on input & 1.9KHz DSP Filter in Icom 756Pro111 - 2 wave delta loop. Deliberate interference for over 10 minutes @ 21.00 even when changing frequency a little. G3VDB Excellent propagation. Lots of QRM! G3VIP RIG IC7000 10W - 40M LW - Homebrew logger Usual wall of noise G3VMW Lots of deliberate QRM. G3VPW Real struggle with QRM tonight very strong inter G. Finally managed to squeeze into a run frequency for the last 25 minutes. Those who establish themselves with a clear frequency BEFORE the contest starts have a distinct advantage. G3VUS plenty of activity but this short doublet cannot cope so must try and get more wire out. G3ZBU First effort with this rig on SSB but it is not producing much more than 10W due to some fault that I have yet to track down. Loads of activity and the valve front end worked well! G3ZGC Difficult running QRP tonight as so many stations on. Rig IC7700 10w to 132 ft wire wrapped into 55 ft garden. G3ZHE Band stayed open for the 90 mins. Lots of qrm HI and lots of FUN G4DDL suprising how much harder it is on 80m SSB with my modest set-up. Would have worked many more on CW G4DDX Very busy with good conditions. Used my windom which proved my g8kw trap dipole is better on 80. Must put it up for next cc. Used sd which performed perfectly G4EBK Best score yet. Apologies to the stations who called and I couldn't work too weak to get over my high noise level. G4ENZ Excellent start but rates dropped as the QRM built. It was very tough going towards the end. Discovered that VOX and fits of coughing don't mix well. Many thanks to all who worked me. G4GZB SD made it easy work for me! G4IDF Hell that was an hour and a half's noisy hard work!! First time on the CC contest G4IGN Rough overdriven signals at the top end G4IUF Wow busy - kept getting stomped over ! G4KNO Good fun. Need to be louder! G4LMW Condx better at the start. Good fun but some QRM "fisty-cuffs" heard on more than one occasion. G4OTJ A few more than last time. G4RCD Trio TS-930S at 100 Watts output. 132' doublet at 40 feet max First and last 30 minutes were great. Lost my run frequency after about 30 mins when an unapologetic "big gun" landed it.... G4VUD Plenty of noise and qrm with everybody calling over everyone else at times. Conditions fair flow mainly west to east very few gm's etc G4WUG Typical SSB mayhem! Some very wide signals out there! Bring on CW. G6UBM +30 background picked up in last half hour G7DDN The rx front end was struggling tonight! Just a cacophony of noise most of the time & not always fun truth be told. I am beginning to prefer the CW and Data nights... G7SKR Lots of activity. Much better band conditions. G8CKT A slow start but better than last time! GM3VTY 80m is a bit small for this contest any signal less than 9+10 lost in the qrm GM6NX ICOM-756 PROii & DIPOLE GW3KDB FT 1000MP 100Watts Doublet at 45Ft. GW4BLE great conditions - best yet for QRP! GW7AAV My first contest. Loads of mistakes. Better next time M0AAA Very hard going. QRM was bad. Could not copy alot of the weaker stations calling me.
