M0MCV Made the mistake of not getting into the shack until five minutes before the start and all the frequencies had been taken! M0MDF Not too bad - a bit noisy M0NKS very noisy tonight hard work for QRP M0NNH Delibrate Qrm caused yet again But still enjoyed M0RBE Very noisy mad house some signals being overdriven. M0VAA Horrible QRM 3.693 to 3.765 restricting operation to lower part of band. M0XDX Had trouble finding a clear frequency.Very noisy but enjoyable. M0XJP very noisy with much QRM but always enjoyable M0XSM Conditions reasonable M1DSE/P 100w FT-857d fullsize dipole at 30ft. Personal best tonight good condx shame about the s9+40 signal which appeared around 1945z just below me otherwise would have been a good run freq all evening. Probably most enjoyable SSB this year M1EBV Noisy but fun. Better than usual s&p. M1PTR Did the first 10mins on 2.5w then spotted power meter was on 5w range not 20w !. MM0GHM/P Good to get back on contest trail, couldn't get on due to work :( MM0GOR Very busy contest again tonight, difficult from GM-land MM0VTV A lot of noise and QRM on the bands but never the less great fun! Yaesu FT-990 Inverted L 100w MM1HMV Better conditions MW0RZC slow going PA600MIR Another stint with my anniversary call but I fear not everyone got the 600 correct now that the MIR suffix is reasonably well known. This was a real test for the operators I suppose. May use the call in the DATA section too if I find the time. Hope see you all again. 73 from 600 year old town of Purmerend and if interested please check www.qrz.com/pa600mir for information. SM5CSS Elecraft K3 100W to Dipole |
SOAPBOX: 2E0CPT First RSGB Contest 2E0RKY Endfed wire tonight... it shows. G0AAA FT1000mp(100w version) + dipole at 65ft. Noisy but fun. Good condx in S/E England! ...op. Ian G3WVG G0DVJ usual instances of attempted jamming, deliberate QRM. Good fun. Rushed prep tonight. G0EUN Good conditions. Crowded band! G0GDU 10w into w3dzz @ 28ft could not hold a run freq so all s&p very good for first hour then noise levels increased complete blank in last 7 mins could hear stations calling cq but often could not hear the stations they were working G0HSA Back after a long layoff from the contest. Found the band noisey and couldn't hold a run frequency. Went search and pounce and managed over 50. Will try and get on the air for the next one. This will be subject to other commitments G0IIQ Very noisy band tonight G0JKZ Great fun First contest for me this year G0KYS Very busy band. Did try hard but just couldn't find a frequency G0NXA Lost the run frequency very quickly and left to S & P. G0OKF Lots of noise for me. G0PEB Good fun very busy on the band. G0RXA Missed last time so nice to start contest in daylight. Achieved my best score this year so really pleased. G0VGS Quite noisy tonight and quite a lot of deliberate QRM! G0VOK Very busy G1FON Besides the keyboard packing up on my PC and loosing time everything was dandy. G2BKZ Very crowded-late start-good fun. G3HRH Very busy. Took some time to find a run frequency Some QSB and heavy QRM G3KLH Many new calls tonight G3LDI Arrived home 5 minutes before the contest started. Huge activity G3LHJ Activity very high - lots of Qrm G3LIK Some big QSB at the start but conditions improved. Good to hear a lot of familiar calls in the log. G3LRS good fun first contest for 2E0VOD G3MXH Late start and unable to hold a frequency until quite late in the contest. Lots of deliberate QRM. G3MZV My IC706 RX just isn't good enough anymore or maybe it's the old ears. G3NFB Good session. Plenty of activity. G3NKS Searched and Pounced the whole period. my 100ft doublet at 15ft not good enough for CQing - can't hold a frequency!! G3OLB Nice long run tonight and the frequency actually became quieter as the contest progressed. A few deliberate jammers who were easily dealt with by some judicious filtering! TS850 outputting 100 watts PEP as indicated on Daiwa CN801 power meter! G3PHO Phew! That was some noisey contest! Couldnt find a run frequency from the start so had to S&P for around an hour. Very high level of QRM made me ask for repeats far to often...sorry folks :-) Equipment: FT950 + 100ft inverted V doublet at 32ft apex G3SNU Enjoyable-but what a struggle from out in the sticks G3SVD This was a very good contest for me. Condx were excellent almost no noise here and best of all only one minor attempt at DQRM I ignored him and he gave up. G3TBK Very high noise level tonight hard to read the weaker stations. G3TXF No time to re-tweak 80m (CW) dipole for SSB before the contest. Hence stuck to 3607 at bottom of band throughout. Unlike on previous occasions was able to stay on one frequency whole time. Doubtless missed QSOs with several other stations doing the same! G3VCA Crowded as usual with deliberate interferance as always but conditions becoming more tollerable as the lighter evenings are upon us. G3VDB Noisier than ever! G3VIP RIG IC7000 10W - 40M LW - Homebrew logger G3VPW Found a relatively 'quiet' frequency AFTER the start and ran for most of the contest. Only a few continentals tonight despite the QRM highest ever SSB score. G3VUS noisy band and a bit of a zoo but good fun G3XYF Fewer ops saying "roger" when they mean "over" G3ZBU good conditions. G3ZGC Rig IC7700 10w to 132 ft wire wrapped into 55 ft garden. I can think of better ways of spending my birthday! G3ZVW Isn't it amazing how an S9 Continental net starts-up on your frequency as soon as the contest begins? G4ASR 500 foot doublet @ 60 feet worked quite well Some severe fading at times but kept a run going. G4BUO Oops forgot the contest was on! But these sessions really are becoming just too crowded. Maybe it is time for us experienced contesters to invite new contesters from our clubs and give them some tuition. G4CLA Excellent conditions here and managed to adjust the filters to keep out most of the noise! Flex 5000A plus dipole. G4CXQ Good fun G4DDX Busy busy busy noisy noisy noisy no place to try to run untill a jammer closed down near the end. Nearly as many in the last 1/2 hr as in the first hour. Enjoyed the evening as usual G4EBK End to end Bedlam. G4EFO wall to wall qso's, couldn't find a space. G4ENZ Tough going with heavy QRM especially in the last 30 minutes. G4FKA Steady rate throughout. Band very busy with the usual eclectic selection of curious noises. G4FSU Very noisy S&P only these legs need more space! G4IGN A number of stations carried on after time out. G4IUF One of those nights - loads of QRM from all sorts even a jammer. G4LMX Extremely busy lots of QRM G4OBK Managed 30 minutes only due to family committments G4SJX Another great night G4VUD Just as noisy as always but patience got through the noise. G6TVB Lots of QRM very noisy. G6UBM tnx to those who gave me points thru +40qrm v difficult to find a spot to call cq G6XRL Steep learning curve G7DDN S&P tonight - just nowhere free to run. Plenty of loud signals tonight G8BUN High levels of noise. Thanks to the stations that persevered. Apologies to those I could not copy.73 G8CKT Very many strong signals - even with 20dB attenuation! G8HXE Must get a bigger garden so I can get an antenna ! GM0WED In full daylight and the aurora over us didn't help. Still it can only get worse now. GM3VTY poor conditions now a daylight contest! GM6NX Noisy noisy noisy GW3KDB FT1000MP 100Watts Doublet at 45Ft. As a CW operator I can't get on with a microphone. GW4BLE Bit under the weather tonight :-( GW7BZR What a noise and the dogs decided to join in!!! M0AAA That is the last time I use QRP for the SSB CC. Stations had so much trouble hearing the 10 watts. M0DHO Usual crowded band and battle with QRM. Lots of activity. Enjoyed the contest. M0GXB/P First attempt at QRP and portable. Syncal-30 driving inverted-V doublet over tree. QTH grassy area overlooking Thatcher Rock Torquay M0JWB Local QRN |
