TS-930S at 100 Watts with Dipole fed with open wire feeder
at 40 feet (Max).
Operator rather rusty after a few months of no contests....
good to be back for a new year of 80m CC Contests.
Even the earthquake could not stop us!
Happy New Year to all.
G4RCG
Great fun 1st session with lots of stations on both EU and G condx
Ten Tec Orion Dipole @ 60'
G4RLS
Not my finest hour due to 20 over s9 plus QRM from a
neighbours Plasma TV UUGH! Conditions here were varied
with signals(those that rose above the QRM)up and down
in QSB so a run was out of the question as chances of
hearing those calling would be slim
G4WUG
Slow to start but came on well later on nice to see you all again.
G6AY
FT-2000. Dipole @ 50 feet
G7PVZ
Not a lot of inter G for the first third of the
contest. Lots of the normal QRM and fading.
Thanks to everyone.
G8CKT
Wasted a lot of time calling stations who couldn't hear me!

GI4FUE
very poor to start with, picked up later, all bar 4 qso's were S&P, first time
entry in this test
GM0ELP
HNY all! Elecraft K3 80m doublet @ 20ft. Very noisy here. Missed
start of contest. Thanks to all who worked me.
GM3YEH
Poor conditions here for most of the contest. Things improved during the last 15
minutes but by then a decent score was a forlorn hope.
GM3ZRT
condx poor to begin with but picked up near the end

M0SAR
QSB made things difficult for me but still had fun!
M0SEL
Poor conditions at the beginning but improving as the contest went on.
M0UNN
really slow start propagation improved when 15 minutes left
M0VAA
Doublet does not work well this this time of year. Onwards and upwards!
M5ALG
first of the year.conditions not too good at this end for inter g good for eu
though.
MM0BQI
Happy New Year!
Good to get started on the CCs again. Very noisy here at the start with S8
across the band. Spent some time ensuring it was not the new CH boiler that was
installed last week! Signals were much stronger towards the end. New home brewed
trapped
dipole twisting its way round the garden worked okay. Need to work on the noise
problem.
Thanks for the Qs.

First ever go at QRP. All S&P except 1 Q. Surprising. Several loud
stations CQ'd in my face and several I could just hear came straight
back to me 1st call. PA's and DL's were stronger than the G's for most
of the test.

not many g staions heard until 2040 when condx picked up

Sincere thanks for an excellent contest and a great pleasure to participate.
It would be nice to see admittance to European/Foreign calls by amateurs who
still hold a current UK licence.
G0ADH
A bit rusty but nice to be back.
G0AFH
1st attempt at this contest from home. S9 QRM across the band from neighboring

through the noise. K3 10W Inverted L

FT1000 with 10W into W3DZZ @ 28ft agl
Missed 1st 20 minutes skip very long up to 21:00 and then started to work mainly
G's
Struggled with my QRP signal to break through the QRM
G0HFX
V poor condx--lots of local QRM--worked just about all I heard--tks to all who
struggled with my QRP
G0HSA
Heavy QRM but managed to work some of the stronger stations in the contest. Now
for the SSB leg for January
G0KYA
Bad condx at start, but then improved. Es critical frequency also came up to
2.95MHz at end.
G0LHZ
Very Noisy Band at start
G0MRH
Very noisy band and difficult to copy details for the first hour then band
packed with stations.
G0NXA
Slow going but a good introduction to this years series of events.
G0OKF
Conditions only fair
my RF neighbour (abt 400yards away) could hardly be heard over the noise
SD as usual flawless
G0ORH
Weird condx last night plenty of eu activity.

Condx poor to begin with but improved during the contest
G3GLL
Conditions very poor early on-
improved towards the end
G3HRH
Very variable propagation, Fcrit was below 3 MHz but fortunately an E layer
formed for some of the time
G3IZD
conditions much better than Jan 2010 with 13 DXCC
on my little wire very promising for succeeding
contests.
G3JJG
A really good filter helped in the last 30 mins
G3KKP
Enjoyed the contest but not the
conditions here in this part of the UK
G3LDI
Slow start but propagation improved. Some benefitted from some Es
G3LHJ
Very changable condxs all through the contest
but enjoyable as ever - activity average.
G3LIK
Some long skip to start with and deep QSB
Nice to hear a lot of familiar calls in the New Year
Some very strong signals
G3MXH
Found conditions early on poor for Uk picked up better
towards the end.
G3MZV
Dreadful conditions until the last half hour when the skip shortened and the UK
was a readable strength. YU, EA and SM were the strongest signals on the band
for most of the duration. Great fun and hard work make it a great contest.
G3NKS
Conditions poor slow going.
G3OLB
I thought conditions were going to be long skip only but most Gs were excellent
signals as well as the Europeans even North Africa and Cyprus.
G3PDH
Condx turned out better than expected for the first CC.
G3PHO
A very poor night indeed with an S7-8 noise level until ten minutes
before the end and over an hour of weak and watery G signals. This
the norm at this time of year and maybe we could start at 2100 in
future years ? :-) Anyway it was a good opportunity to try out the kit
I'll be using as VP2V/G3PHO in this year's BERU. Thankfully the
antennas and 80m conditions will be much better over there!
G3PND
First contest after being QRT for many years - thanks for your patience
G3SVL
Nice start to the year!
G3TBK
Plenty of activity unusual for January! Many UK stations weakbut Ron GW3YDX had
things right though - S9+60!
Seems as though even more EU stations joining in this year. Wonder how many have
been recruited by Contest Groups?

to "warm up" and conditions improved

conditions etc.
G3WVG

G3YEC
Lost cable connection to el key and PC so most done
by GKA hand key ! Apologies to anyone who found me
difficult to work. Very long skip at start settled
down for last half hour.
G3YLA
First time using both N1MM and Flex 3000, very exciting at times with
keyboard/window focus conflicts! Lots to learn, but shows great promise.
G3YMC
No inter-G propagation for the first half then somewhat noisy.
So rather down but understandable for Winter conditions.
Hope to have some more of our members on next time.

G3ZBU
