RSGB Contest Results AFS Contest PHONE 2013
v4.148 by G4CLA

As expected the AFS Phone event for 2013 was a busy contest on a crowded band. Good inter-UK conditions during the daylight hours with activity later from Europe meant that if you could find and hold a run frequency there were plenty of contacts for the taking. A number of stations were noted with a carrier frequency of between 3600 and 3603kHz, entrants are reminded of the requirement to keep all of their lower sideband transmission within the contest frequency limits.

Some 259 logs were received for adjudication, with 33,825 contacts accounted for. Once again, please check your log before submitting! - A quick scan through for obvious typographic errors may save you losing points in a tightly fought contest, it'll also help to speed up the adjudication process.

It's tough at the top, and first place this year went to Cray Valley Radio Society (M0DXR, G4BUO, M0MCV & G0VJG) who receive the Flight Refuelling ARS Trophy. M0DXR is rewarded with the RSGB Lichfield Trophy for taking the overall lead from G6UW and G3PYE both representing Cambridge Hams. G3TBK from Grimsby ARS was in joint 3rd place.
